Meloetta/Meroetta (メロエッタ) is one of the new event legendary in Pokemon Black and White and will likely have a starring role in a new Pokemon movie.
Similarly to some legendary Pokemon in the past, Meloetta also has a alternate form in the games, but unlike most of them, Meloetta’s alternate form also has a type change.
Its normal form in the games is the Aria form, which is Normal/Psychic, while its Piroulette form, which can only be obtained when it is taught the move, Relic Song, is Normal/Fighting. It’s been speculated that the special move, Relic Song, can only be taught to Meloetta through a special event which leads me to believe that a special event will be made available in a future Pokemon movie in Japan to activate Meloetta’s alternate form.

Its fantastic that both formes look so different from one another. While normal/psychic is a good typing, the normal/fighting typing in meloettas step forme hinders her more than helps her, but it looks interesting

I really like and appreciate how she is a psychic type that is immune to ghost attacks. That’s a super plus about the normal co-typing.
The only thing that I don’t like about her is that you can only have one (unless you trade…but who would seriously want to trade you an event only Pokemon?). This is the only Pokemon that I have seen where I honestly love both forms and don’t favor one over the other. (I like the normal/psychic *typing* better though)
Looking at her, I LOVE how the Songstress has the long, flowing hair and the slitted little black dress. It to me reads that she could battle while standing perfectly still and be a power house. And then I love how the Dancer’s dress bursts out some extra panels and just wraps up her hair using the same hair broach. It reads that she will be flowing and twirling all over the place as she “steps” out the competition.
Even as a Theatre Major, I thought the Pokemon musicals would be boring and just something I’d do after I beat the game or was killing time. But thanks to her, I am really excited about the musicals.
If I do get two of them, I think I’ll name the Songstress Rachel and the Dancer Brittany. (10 points if you know where the names are from)
And…related yet semi off topic…that hair broach…doesn’t it look similar to the playboy bunny logo?

sorry to put you guys down, but two things here are incorrect. 1., the step forme has been known even before the game was realeased. Some people hacked the demos of the games and found out all of the pokemon in the new game, showing that melloetta has an alternate form. Nintendo’s japanese aprtner simply realeased knews of how to get it without hacking. And two, it doesnt change when learning ancient voice, since i downloaded a white rom[payed for of course] and used the built-in hacks to find some things out about the game, and found that melloetta learns acneint voice when you level it up to 100 when it had the worst posssible friendship when it leveled up to lv 99, but then ahd the best possible when leveling up to lv 100.
